Personal data means any information about an identified or identifiable person.
What we collect
- Enquiries, viewing requests and valuation requests. Your name, email address, telephone or WhatsApp number, country, preferred language, the property or service you asked about, your budget and timing if you tell us, and the message you write.
- A personal property search. The brief you give us: locations, type of property, budget, bedrooms, must-haves, and when you want to move.
- Newsletter signups. Your email address, and your name if you give it.
- Information about your visit. If you accept analytics cookies, how you reached the site, the pages and listings you viewed and the general region you were in. This is described in our Cookie Policy.
- Technical records. Our hosting keeps server logs, including IP addresses, which are used for security and to diagnose faults.
We do not ask for special category data such as health, political opinions, racial or ethnic origin, religion or sexual life, and we ask you not to send any to us. Where a transaction later requires identity or source of funds documents, we will ask for them separately and explain why, and not through a form on this website.
If you give us someone else's details, please make sure they are happy for you to do so.
How we use it and on what basis
- To answer your enquiry, arrange viewings, send you property suggestions you asked for, and provide the service you came to us for. Basis: performance of a contract, or our legitimate interest in responding to someone who contacted us.
- To act for you as a client in a sale, a purchase, a letting or the management of a property, under the written agreement we sign with you. Basis: performance of a contract.
- To send you our newsletter and occasional property news. Basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
- To understand how the website is used and improve it. Basis: your consent, given through the cookie banner.
- To keep the site and our records secure and to prevent misuse of our forms. Basis: our legitimate interest.
- To meet our legal obligations, including tax, accounting and anti-money-laundering duties that apply to a property transaction. Basis: legal obligation.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal data, and we do not accept third-party advertising on this website. We share it only as follows.
- Zoho CRM. Every enquiry is recorded in Zoho CRM, hosted in the European Union, so that an advisor can pick it up and follow it through. Zoho acts as our processor.
- Mailchimp. Newsletter subscribers are held in Mailchimp, which acts as our processor. Mailchimp is operated from the United States and transfers are made under the safeguards described below.
- Google. If you accept cookies, Google Analytics receives information about your visit and Google Maps receives a request when a map loads. This is described in our Cookie Policy.
- Our hosting and email providers, who hold the site and our correspondence on our behalf.
- The people needed to complete a transaction you have asked us to work on, which may include the other side's agent, the owner or landlord, your lawyer, a notary, a surveyor, a bank or a property manager. We share only what that person needs.
- Authorities and advisers, where we are required to disclose data by law, by a court or by a regulator, or where we need advice about a legal claim.
Where a provider is outside the European Economic Area, the transfer is covered by an adequacy decision or by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, with written terms in place.
How long we keep it
An enquiry that does not lead to anything is kept for up to two years so that we can recognise you if you come back, and then deleted. A client file is kept for as long as we act for you and then for the period tax, accounting and anti-money-laundering law requires. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in Google Analytics.
Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, we review them, and we limit access to the staff who need it. We can only be responsible for the systems we control, and no transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Your rights
You have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable form, and to withdraw any consent you have given. You also have the right to object at any time to the use of your data for direct marketing.
To exercise any of these rights, write to us at the email address above. We will reply within one month, and we will confirm when a deletion has been carried out.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, at aepd.es, or to the supervisory authority where you live. We would rather you raised it with us first so that we can put it right.
Cookies
Our Cookie Policy forms part of this policy and explains what this website stores in your browser and how to change your choice.
Do Not Track
This website does not respond to Do Not Track signals, because there is no agreed standard for them. Declining cookies on the banner stops all analytics instead.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when what we do changes. The version published on this page is the current one.
