Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar technology used on this website, which is operated by Melten Global Group S.L., trading as Hoy Hoy Ibiza Real Estate, in Ibiza, Balearic Islands, Spain. Please read it together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data, and our Terms and Conditions.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. Some are needed for the site to work. Others tell the site owner how the site is being used. This policy also covers the related technology this site uses to remember things in your browser, which is local and session storage.

The Spanish Data Protection Agency publishes a plain guide to cookies and to managing them in your browser at aepd.es.

Your choice

When you first arrive we show a banner with Accept and Decline. Nothing that needs your consent is loaded until you accept, and declining is as easy as accepting. Declining does not restrict any part of this website, although an embedded Google map will not load until you accept.

Your choice is remembered in a cookie named hoyhoy_consent. You can change it at any time by clearing the cookies this site has set in your browser settings, after which the banner will appear again.

Cookies that do not need your consent

These are needed for the site to work or to record a choice you have made.

• hoyhoy_consent. Remembers whether you accepted or declined cookies, so we do not ask again on every page. Set by this site.
• Security tokens on our forms. Each enquiry form carries a one-time token so that a submission can be checked as genuine. It is held for the length of your visit.
• Session and local storage. Your browser remembers the first page of your visit and the site you arrived from, so that an advisor answering your enquiry can see what you were looking at, and it remembers a notice you have dismissed so it is not shown again. This stays in your browser and is not a cookie.
• WordPress login cookies. Set only for our own staff when they sign in to manage the site. They are not set for visitors.

Cookies we use only with your consent

• Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit, which pages and property listings they look at, and where they arrive from. It sets cookies beginning _ga and records a form submission and a click on our WhatsApp link as events. We use it to improve the site, not to target advertising, and no analytics script loads at all until you accept.
• Google Maps. The island map, the area maps and the map on a property page are provided by Google Maps. Loading a map lets Google set its own cookies in your browser and tells Google your approximate location and which page you are on. Maps load only after you accept.

Advertising

We do not run advertising on this website, we do not sell or rent your data, and we do not use advertising or profiling cookies.

Cookies set by other companies

Where you choose to load a map or follow a link to a property portal or a social network, that company acts under its own privacy and cookie policy, and we do not control what it stores. Google explains its own use of data for Analytics and Maps in the Google Privacy Policy.

Enquiry data is not a cookie

When you send us an enquiry, the details you type are passed to our customer relationship system, Zoho CRM, and a newsletter signup is passed to Mailchimp. That is not done with cookies, and it is described in our Privacy Policy.

Managing cookies in your browser

Every modern browser lets you see the cookies a site has set, delete them, and block cookies in general or for one site. Blocking all cookies may stop parts of this or any other website from working as intended.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the tools we use change. The version published on this page is the current one.
